Race Report

This was another beautiful autumn morning to bookend the Easter mini-festival of TTing; this time it was very calm and relaxed but with a chilly start. Our actual start line was in the sun - that was not a bad thing. But neither Jon (Greg nor Lewis) looked overly relaxed as they flew past the finish on four occasions - each had fire in his soul. Jonathan Lewis was putting down one of the handful of PBs of the morning, halving the speed gap that existed between them on Friday. But - different courses. Steff started in fine spirit but had brought her tired legs with her. That was a pity because it was her new bike they were pedalling; nevertheless she was still the fastest woman but Alison Ramm wasn't too far behind: a happier Alison, not on a 'sprinter's course'.

It was dark when Sue Challen and David Equid arrived to sign the course. Sue was there to oversee the procedure: our most recently accredited BWTM person. Done that! - they jumped on their respective bikes and checked out the course more seriously. Calamity: Sue fell victim to a glass shard on lap 2 - her favourite course, the one she'd waited all season to ride. She'll be back but it was no way to celebrate your 100th ATTA event. Jeff was our starter today and Alex Dragicevich the man behind the desk while pater-Don was out on the course grabbing another of those PBs; Guy Pritchard was down at the turn into Doconing Rd at the other end of which Paul Laidman and Adam Scott guided riders on to Old Notham Rd for the return to Chidlow; there, on the roundabout, was Ben Massey. David did another lap of the course, retrieving the signage, Jeff locked the dunnies and returned the keys and that was it! Thank you ALL.
